Jim Hawthorne, the voice of LSU athletics, starts his 31st year when the Tigers play host to North Texas in their season opener in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 1. Hawthorne talks with Online Sports Editor Pierce W. Huff about a variety of subjects ranging from his love of LSU sports, working with Tigers coach Les Miles, the dismissal of Tyrann Mathieu from the football team and quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
