Kevin Gausman signs with Baltimore Orioles

LSU pitcher Kevin Gausman will get to play on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

LSU right-hander Kevin Gausman, the fourth overall pick in the major league ball draft, has come to terms with the Baltimore Orioles on a deal worth $4.32 million.

Gausman was 12-2 with a 2.77 earned run average for the Tigers last season. He had 135 strikeouts in 123.2 innings.

Gausman called LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri to give him the news as Mainieri met with the media.

Mainieri told Gausman: "I've got a bit of a tear my eye, but it's a tear of joy."
