Ragin’ Cajuns grab top attendance increase
LAFAYETTE — The NCAA announced Tuesday that the University of Louisiana at Lafayette had the top football attendance increase for the 2011 season.
“This honor is just a testament to the great fans we have here at UL,” coach Mark Hudspeth said. “I appreciate our fans accepting my challenge to pack Cajun Field and make it a great place to play. Even though we had the top increase in attendance last year, I think its only going to get better next year.”
The Ragin’ Cajuns had an average increase of 11,788 per game, setting both the Sun Belt Conference average and total attendance record and the ULL average attendance record.
ULL beat out Arizona State, Stanford, Iowa State, Temple, Florida State and Oklahoma State for the top honor.
Fans can reserve season tickets for the 2012 season at either the M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field box office, the Cajundome box office or by calling (337) 851-2011.
