Saints morning briefing (Aug. 19)

The Saints are doing their best to say out of sight. After holding the first three weeks of camp in West Virginia, the team returned to its practice facility for Sunday’s session, but practice was moved indoors Monday.

Weather permitting, the Saints should practice before fans Tuesday morning.

ABOUT YESTERDAY: The Saints held practice indoors due to rain. The defense won the day by shutting out the offense in a pair of two-minute drills at the end of practice. Undrafted rookie wide receiver Brandon Coleman had a good day by catching a handful of passes. It was a big day for the rookie since his stock has recently fallen due to drops.

TODAY’S SCHEUDLE: The Saints will practice at 11 a.m.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: As has been the theme of late, Tuesday will be all about attendance. Safety Jairus Byrd is expected back soon and could return as early as Tuesday. Guard Ben Grubbs was limited Monday for undisclosed reasons. Rookie wide Brandin Cooks also missed Monday’s session due to a stomach virus.
