Keep West Baton Rouge Beautiful will place the winning photo on car litter bags to be distributed to parish residents. Church fair The Immaculate Conception Church Fair will take place in Lakeland on from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday along La. 414 across from the Chenal Cemetery. The family event will feature an array of food, carnival rides and live entertainment. “American Idol” contestant Brandy Hotard will be featured in a Meet and Greet on Sunday. Advanced tickets are $7 each and $8 at the door on the day of the event. The event will feature food, entertainment and door prizes. Attendees are asked to wear hats. Rockin’ Roast The Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce will host a professional barbecue cook-off April 26-27 on Morrison Parkway in New Roads. The cook-off, called “Rockin’ & Roasting on the River,” is an International Barbecue Cooks Association sanctioned event that will feature food, beer, music and opportunities to meet professional cooks from around the state who will be competing for $5,000 in prize money.
