Iberville sheriff’s office makes arrest in Saturday shooting

Iberville Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested an 18-year-old man Monday accused of shooting another man Saturday night, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Shelton Williams, 62415 Jones St., Plaquemine, was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on one count each of attempted second-degree murder, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet, Sheriff Brett Stassi said in a news release.

Deputies dispatched around 11 p.m. Saturday to Kitty & Bo’s Club on La. 1 found a man with gunshot wounds, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Maj. Johnny Blanchard said. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
