McCain to speak on Baton Rouge radio talk show

U.S. Sen John McCain is scheduled to visit Baton Rouge political radio Saturday, says Roy Fletcher, a political consultant who hosts a show on Talk 107.3 FM with state Sen. Dan Claitor, R-Baton Rouge.

McCain, the Arizona Republican who was the GOP’s presidential candidate in 2008, will be discussing Syria, Fletcher said.

McCain criticized Tuesday the U.S. and Russia deal that would have Syria hand over its chemical weapons. He said President Barack Obama made a compromise that will not rid the Assad regime of those weapons.

About 1,400 people, including 400 children, living in suburban Damacus were killed in chemical weapons attack.

The political insider radio talk show on 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Fletcher said he’d also try to pin McCain down on the Saints versus Phoenix Cardinals football game, to be played on Sunday.
