Bacon-Blood joins AP to boost La. state coverage

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Associated Press has named Littice Bacon-Blood as a legislative relief reporter in Louisiana.

The announcement was made on Friday by AP South Region Editor Lisa Marie Pane and Louisiana-Mississippi News Editor Brian Schwaner.

Bacon-Blood will be based in Baton Rouge and will work with Correspondent Melinda Deslatte on coverage of state government during the upcoming session of the Louisiana Legislature.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State University and is pursuing a master’s degree at Kent State University. She is a former reporter and a suburban bureau chief for The Times-Picayune and previously worked as a reporter for the Sun Herald newspaper in Mississippi.
