Aug 7, 2014 14:27 Baton Rouge police and fire briefs for Aug. 7, 2014 Baton Rouge police and fire briefs for Aug. 7, 2014 Advocate staff report Aug. 07, 2014 Comments Couple accused of operating meth lab A husband and wife are accused of operating a methamphetamine lab in the Greenwell Springs home where they lived with two children. Deputies were already driving Darryl Fourroux, 33, to Parish Prison on April 29 after arresting him on a different warrant when Fourroux told deputies he had a meth lab in his bedroom closet at the 18443 Ednie Lane home, according to the latest arrest warrant. When authorities returned to the house later that day, Fourroux’s wife, Nikia Fourroux, 32, was home with her two kids and told police she knew nothing about a meth lab, the warrant says. But deputies found camp fuel, drain opener and cold packs inside the house, and bottles and cold packs in a trash bin in the driveway. Narcotics agents got skin irritation from the chemicals while they were searching the home, the warrant says. Deputies called a cleaning company, X-Treme Cleaners, to help remove the items from the garbage bin. Nikia Fourroux, 18443 Ednie Lane, Greenwell Springs, was booked Tuesday into Parish Prison on a count of operating a clandestine lab for a controlled and dangerous substance. Darryl Fourroux has remained in Parish Prison since he was booked on that same count on April 30. Authorities book man on suspicion of DWI Authorities booked a Baton Rouge man suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish. Bobby Jennings, 63, 4888 Hooper Road, was booked on first-offense DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle. Compiled from staff reports.
