Aug 8, 2014 23:19 Acadia deputies arrest two in Friday shooting Acadia deputies arrest two in Friday shooting Advocate staff report Aug. 08, 2014 Comments RAYNE — Acadia Parish authorities have arrested two men on attempted murder counts in the Friday morning shooting that left one man injured with a bullet wound to his face after an argument at a Scott nightclub, officials said. Jake A. Kebodeaux, 18 and from Maurice, was arrested Friday afternoon on five counts of attempted second-degree murder. On Sunday, Tyler Carpenter, 19 and from Scott, turned himself in to deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office. Carpenter was booked on five counts of attempted second-degree murder, Acadia sheriff’s spokeswoman Maxine Trahan said. Both men are being held on bail of $100,000 each. The Friday fight started at Cowboy’s Night Club in Scott, and ended with the shooting at around 3 a.m. on Tanner Road near Rayne, in Acadia Parish. Trahan said the altercation involved people in three vehicles. Trahan did not say how many people were in the vehicles or involved in the fight. The Lafayette and Scott police departments are assisting in the investigation.
