MARTINVILLE — Detectives looking for the armed robber of a Dollar General Store near Cecilia July 15 found the suspect nearby Monday — behind bars at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. Jacob James Joseph, 23, of Cecilia, was re-booked into the jail on one count of armed robbery. Joseph was already in jail after being arrested July 18 on unrelated counts. No bond had been set by Monday night, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ginny Higgins said in a release. Joseph is suspected of walking into the Dollar General Store on Cecilia Senior High School Drive with a handgun, escaping with an undetermined amount of money, Higgins said.
