Jul 28, 2014 22:50 BR man sought in Gonzales aggravated assault BR man sought in Gonzales aggravated assault Royal Johnson Advocate staff report July 28, 2014 Comments GONZALES — Gonzales police are seeking a Baton Rouge man whom witnesses said fired several shots into a Hamilton Street home Wednesday morning. The six people inside the home, ranging in age from 1 to 27, were unharmed, said Detective Sgt. Steven Nethken, with the Gonzales Police Department. The suspect, Royal Rosspeal Johnson, 24, 353 W. Johnson St., reportedly fired shots at the house minutes after an argument between Johnson and the residents, police said. Investigators determined that at least four shots were fired, three of which passed through the walls into the interior of the house. An arrest warrant has been issued for Johnson on six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of an illegal discharge of a firearm inside city limits. Johnson is believed to be in the Baton Rouge area. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
