Police ID suspect in shooting Police ID suspect in shooting Advocate staff report| July 14, 2014 Comments Baton Rouge Police are searching for a 21-year-old man who is known to frequent the Tigerland area in a fatal shooting early Saturday, a police spokesman said. Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., said Tajh Harris, 3434 Jackson Ave., is wanted on one count each of second-degree murder and illegal of a weapon in the death of Javontia Davis, 24, 2663 Wenonah St., Baton Rouge. Police suspect an argument between Harris, Davis and several others led to the shooting, Coppola said. Police are unsure what the group argued about. Officers working a traffic control detail around 2600 Plank Road found Davis lying in the road shortly before 2 a.m. while responding to gunshots in the 2600 block of Wenonah Street. East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services pronounced Davis dead at the scene. Harris may be driving an older model tan or brown Toyota Camry, Coppola said. Anyone with information on the homicide is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
