Police seeking driver who struck child on bike in Brusly Police seeking driver who struck child on bike in Brusly Advocate staff report July 07, 2014 Comments State Police are searching for a white SUV involved in a hit-and-run with a child riding his bicycle on River Road, north of La. 989-1 in West Baton Rouge Parish on Friday afternoon, a State Police spokesman said. The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. in Brusly as a white SUV, possibly an early to mid-90s Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon, hit a child cycling north on River Road in the southbound lane and kept on driving, Trooper 1st Class Jared Sandifer said. A witness told troopers she saw the white SUV hit the boy. The child sustained minor injuries and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Sandifer said. He was not wearing a helmet. Troopers got surveillance footage from a house down the block from where the hit-and-run happened that showed the white SUV with a dangling side mirror stop in the middle of the street right after the hit-and-run occurred, Sandifer said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop A at (225) 754-8500.
