Paincourtville man, 52, killed in Belle Rose crash Paincourtville man, 52, killed in Belle Rose crash Advocate staff report June 23, 2014 Comments BELLE rOSE — A 52-year-old man died shortly after 9 p.m. Friday when his pickup truck veered off La. 308 in Belle Rose and overturned. Gerald Miles, of Paincourtville, was heading south when he drove off the road at a curve, then overcorrected, which caused his truck to spin before crashing into an embankment and flipping over, State Trooper Evan Harrell said in a news release. Miles died soon after he was taken to Prevost Hospital in Donaldsonville. Miles was not wearing a seatbelt and toxicology results are pending, Harrell said.
