Lafayette police seeking pair in Target store robbery Lafayette police seeking pair in Target store robbery Advocate staff report June 22, 2014 Comments LAFAYETTE — Authorities are looking for two men who stuck pillow cases over their heads before walking into a Target store on Louisiana Avenue Monday night, where they grabbed cash from a register and then fled. The suspected getaway truck, a stolen 1999 Chevrolet, was later found set on fire less than a mile north of Target, in the 1500 block of East Pont Des Mouton Road, Lafayette Police Department Cpl. Paul Mouton said in a news release. The robbery occurred at 9:50 p.m. at the Target in the 3200 block of Louisiana Avenue. “The employees ran to safety and the suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount (of cash) and fled out of the store,” Mouton said. Police say the truck was the same one that had been reported stolen from a location in the 300 block of Lafayette Street at 3 p.m. on Monday.
