New Iberia woman accused of Medicaid fraud

A New Iberia woman was arrested Thursday on two counts of Medicaid fraud, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Fraud Control Unit said in a news release.

Theresa Clay Guy, 38, a service worker employed by medical providers to care for Medicaid recipients, was jailed on suspicion of fraud after she allegedly submitted time sheets to her two employers under two different names, Theresa Guy and Theresa Clay.

The Attorney General’s Office said the practice falsely billed the health-care program.

If convicted, Guy faces up to five years in prison and a fine up to $20,000 for each count.
