Thomas Moore III, 6424 Dutton Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of hit-and-run, driver’s license required and failure to yield on a lane change. The crash occurred at 9516 Airline Highway at 8:10 a.m. Friday. Lahisha Walls, 37, 12487 Robbie Ave., was driving north on Airline Highway during the morning rush hour when a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo changed into Walls’ lane without looking, Cpl. Don Coppola, a police spokesman, said. Walls swerved into the median to avoid hitting the car, but ended up going over the median and into the southbound lanes where her vehicle was struck by an 18-wheeler, Coppola said. Moore did not stop after forcing Walls off the road, he said. Police received an anonymous tip that Moore was driving the Monte Carlo at the time of the accident, Coppola said.
