Lafayette woman, 57, struck by car, dies Lafayette woman, 57, struck by car, dies Advocate story April 10, 2014 Comments A 57-year-old Lafayette woman died after being struck by a SUV Sunday morning while walking in the 100 block of Broadmoor Boulevard, Lafayette police said. The woman, whose identity is being withheld until her family is notified, was struck by a 2006 Land Rover about 6:30 a.m. while walking in a residential section of the roadway, said Cpl. Paul Mouton, a Lafayette police spokesman. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, Mouton said. The driver of the Land Rover, who was not injured in the crash, was not cited as of Sunday afternoon, Mouton said, although the crash remains under investigation. Police do not expect to release the identity of the crash victim until Monday, Mouton said.
