Police say woman, 52, struck man with iron
Baton Rouge police arrested a 52-year-old woman accused of striking a man in the head with an iron in their house on North 38th Street.
Debra Williams, 1657 N. 38th St., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison Sunday on counts of second-degree battery, prison records show.
The victim had a large gash on his head that required several staples or stitches to close, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Williams said she hit him because he was hitting her with his crutches, the affidavit says.
The parts of the affidavit that show the relationship between Williams and the victim are blacked out.
Girl accused of video voyeurism for photo
A 17-year-old girl was arrested Sunday after she allegedly posted a topless photo of another teen on Twitter after the two had an argument.
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies booked Hayley Aline Douglas, 7518 Woods Edge Drive, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on a count of video voyeurism, prison records show.
Douglas took the photo of the teen, who was 15 when the photo was taken in May, while the victim was changing in the front seat of Douglas’ car, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
After Douglas and the victim argued, Douglas posted the picture on Twitter on Dec. 30 for only about 40 seconds before the victim demanded she take it down, the affidavit says. Douglas then removed the photo.
While the photo was on Twitter, a man, who was not identified in the affidavit, copied the photo, posted it on Twitter and refused to take it down, the affidavit says.
Douglas said she took the photo as a joke and she posted the photo online “without malicious intent,” the affidavit says.
Five in house when fire starts; none injured
An overloaded electrical outlet sparked a fire that caused minor damage to a home on Beechwood Drive on Monday afternoon.
Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said firefighters arrived at the home at about 2:14 p.m. to find one of the walls on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished before it could spread to the rest of the home, Monte said.
Five people were in the home when the fire broke out, but no one was injured, Monte said.
Electricity to the home was disconnected until an electrician can repair the outlet and wiring, Monte said.
