Man arrested for firing gun at two adults, one child

Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 42-year-old man Wednesday for shooting at two adults and one child at the man’s Gunboat Landing home in Maurepas, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies believe Jade Sonnier, 16963 Gunboat Landing, shot the gun sometime before 8 a.m. during a domestic incident at the home, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele said in an email.

Steele declined to divulge Sonnier’s relationship with the victims. The ages of the victims were not available.

No one was injured, Steele said.

Sonnier was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on three counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of illegal discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Sonnier was still jailed Wednesday evening with a $365,000 bail, records show.

The investigation is ongoing, Steele said.
