Search on for boat propeller, fuel tank thieves on Lake Verret Search on for boat propeller, fuel tank thieves on Lake Verret River Parishes bureau Jan. 13, 2014 Comments BAYOU CRAB — Assumption Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for thieves who stole six boat propellers, boat fuel tanks and other equipment from camps and homes in an isolated area near the southern end of Lake Verret, the Sheriff’s Office reported Monday. The equipment was stolen between Dec. 30 and Saturday in the 1400 block of La. 400 in the Bayou Crab community, deputies said in a news release. Deputies said the bayou-side homes could have been reached by boat from nearby Lake Verret. Two of the props are stainless steel and have three blades each. Four other props fit 90-horsepower Yamaha motors, deputies said.
