18-year-old booked in Scott shooting

Scott police have booked an 18-year-old man on one count of attempted second-degree murder in the West Willow Street shooting of another man who sustained three bullet wounds just after midnight Sunday, officials said.

Troy Filer Jr., address unavailable, was found with two other people in a vehicle that matched the victim’s description of the car from which bullets were fired, Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said in a release.

Inside the car police found three firearms, one of which was stolen, Leger said.

Filer also was booked on one count each of illegal discharging of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

The victim Monday remained at a local hospital in stable condition, Leger said.

The case remains under investigation.
