Police search for thieves who shoot, wound victim

Two thieves got out of a four-door vehicle Monday night on Paul Breaux Road, robbed a man at gun point then shot the man in the right thigh, police said.

The victim, who is listed in stable condition at a Lafayette hospital, told police he was walking along the road when the vehicle drove up near him, two men in their 20s got out, and one had a gun.

“After taking the victim’s money, the suspect shot the victim in the right thigh,” Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lafayette police or Crime Stoppers at (377) 232-TIPS.
