Man indicted in Ascension sex crimes arrested in Slidell

A former Ascension Parish man indicted last month for sexual activity with a teenage girl in Ascension was arrested Friday in St. Tammany Parish, authorities said.

Frank Webb Jr., 41, who most recently lived at 62175 N. 11th St., Slidell, was booked Friday into Ascension Parish Prison near Donaldsonville on single counts of sex crimes with a juvenile and molestation of juvenile, Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies said.

Sheriff’s Maj. Kevin Hanna said in a news release that Webb was forcing a 16-year-old girl to have sex with him at various locations in Ascension.

An Ascension Parish grand jury indicted Webb Oct. 25 on the sexual crimes and molestation counts for a period extending from April 1, 2009, to March 30, the bills of indictment say.

But detectives later learned Webb had moved from his Prairieville address in Ascension, Hanna said.

St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Webb early Friday on warrants from Ascension at his Slidell-area address, said Capt. George Bonnett, St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s spokesman.

Webb was returned to Ascension later on Friday.
