Police identify victim of Oct. 23 shooting
Baton Rouge police have identified the victim of an Oct. 23 fatal shooting near North Foster Drive and Sherwood Street.
Peter Gray Jr., 54, 5072 Clayton St., died after being shot multiple times by several young men riding bicycles around 9:45 p.m., said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman.
Police do not have any new information regarding the shooting and they are still looking for three men believed to have shot Gray before fleeing the area on bicycles, McKneely said.

Police arrest man, 24, carrying pounds of pot
Baton Rouge police said officers arrested a man Thursday who was walking around the parking lot of an Cloud Drive apartment complex carrying a black trash bag holding about 61/2 pounds of marijuana and more than $1,000.
Officers of the department’s BRAVE unit were looking for drug activity Thursday afternoon near the Glen Oaks Apartments on Cloud Drive when they spotted Aldric Angelo Byrd, 24, walking around the parking lot of the apartment complex carrying the trash bag, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman.
Byrd fled on foot after being spotted by officers and was soon caught after a short pursuit, McKneely said.
Police booked Byrd, 450 Cloud Drive, into Parish Prison on counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs and resisting an officer, McKneely said.
Three booked with driving while intoxicated
Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
- Justin Baylis, 22, 6929 Commerce Circle, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage and speeding.
- Holly Lungaro, 27, 801 E. Main St., Brusly, first-offense DWI and license plate required.
- Tanner Richie, 18, 359 Winchester Circle, Mandeville, first-offense DWI, motor vehicle inspection required, reckless operation, drinking in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
