Charles Romero, of Amy Benton Lane in Pine Grove, will be sentenced Nov. 12, the District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. The jury deliberated for about an hour before returning a guilty verdict. Livingston Parish sheriff’s detectives arrested Romero on April 14, 2012, on accusations of molesting an 8-year-old girl when the girl visited his home, the District Attorney’s Office said. The victim told an adult about the incident who then contacted police. Romero faces a minimum of 25 years in prison because the victim was under the age of 13, the District Attorney’s Office said.
