3rd suspect booked in dollar store robbery
Police arrested another suspect Monday in a string of armed robberies in Baton Rouge during the summer.
Bernard Hollins Jr., 23, 3512 Josephine St., New Orleans, was booked into Parish Prison on Monday on armed robbery, prison records show.
Hollins is accused of robbing a Family Dollar store, 7165 Greenwell Springs Road, on Aug. 12 with two other men and stealing $1,800, an affidavit warrant says.
Thomas I. Davis, 26, 1118 N. Ardenwood Drive, and another suspect have been arrested on armed robbery counts in the Aug. 12 robbery.
Investigation continues into deaths at motel
Police have identified the man and woman whose bodies were found Sunday inside a room at the Motel 6 on Gwenadale Drive, but still don’t know why they died.
It is believed the deceased, Amy Hadden, 33, 1968 Peck Drive, Baton Rouge, and Steven Ashley Jr., 38, 317 E. Main Street, Hanover, Ind., knew one another, police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said in an email.
Coppola said earlier that the bodies were found at 1:47 p.m. Sunday by motel staff and there was no sign of foul play.

BR police hunting armed bank robber
Police continued searching for an armed man accused of holding up the Regions Bank, 5950 Plank Road, around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The man entered the bank through the north side glass doors with a gun and disarmed the security guard, said police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola Jr.
He walked up to the front counter, demanded cash from the teller and left on foot with an unknown amount of money, Coppola said.
“Nobody was hurt,” Coppola said.
Police say the robber is a black man in his mid 20s to late 30s with a dark complexion and possibly with a goatee.
He is about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet , 200 to 230 pounds and was wearing a gray hoodie, green polo shirt, blue jeans and a light-colored baseball cap, Coppola said.

Authorities book four on suspicion of DWI
Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
- Ashley Aydell, 21, 18320 La. 16, Port Vincent, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage and reckless operation.
- Christian Butera, 19, 4800 Jeannette Drive, Metairie, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage, reckless operation and cutting across private property.
- Earnest Johnson, 52, 3273 Monroe St., Baker, first-offense DWI, failure to maintain control and hit-and-run.
- Manuel De Jesus Rivera Moreno, 35, Callejon Arroyo, Guadalupe, first-offense DWI, motor vehicle inspection required/expired, possession of alcohol in vehicle, registration commercial vehicles exemption and careless operation.
