A Thursday morning house fire at 17819 Christopher’s Crossing killed two dogs and sent a third to the veterinarian, the St. George Fire Protection District reported in an email.
“Three large dogs were recovered from the home with no pulse and unresponsive from smoke inhalation,” Public Information Officer Eldon Ledoux said. “Firefighters performed CPR and administered oxygen to each,” but could only revive one of them.
Units were dispatched at 9:23 a.m. and the first truck arrived at 9:27 a.m., finding dense smoke in the house, he said. The fire was extinguished at 9:46 a.m., and investigation into its cause is ongoing.
“The fire appears to have begun in the kitchen area and caused moderate fire and heavy smoke damage,” Ledoux said. “The exact cause and point of origin of the fire is undetermined.
“No one was home at the time of the fire, so there were no (human) injuries,” he said.
