Woman accused of leaving 3 kids at home

A 25-year-old woman was arrested Monday, accused of leaving her three children at home unattended for several hours while she went to a party at Club Infiniti on Plank Road.

Police booked Tantrisanna Carey, 1900 Blount Road, Apt. 269, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on three counts of child desertion, prison records show.

The children, whose ages were not disclosed by police, were found when a friend of Carey’s entered the apartment because he was trying to reach her and thought she might be asleep, the affidavit of probable cause says.

BR man, 35, arrested in beating of girlfriend

A man accused of beating his girlfriend and choking her to the point she almost blacked out after he came home intoxicated has been arrested.

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies booked Gary Lee Lathers, 35, 987 N. 39th St., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on Monday on counts of second-degree battery, simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment and possession of Schedule II drugs, prison records show.

The victim said Lathers arrived home intoxicated, shattered her cellphone and would not allow her to leave, the affidavit of probable cause says.

Lathers then allegedly punched her several times in the face and body and choked her, the affidavit says.

Lathers said he and the victim were fighting each other and denied punching her, the affidavit says.

Authorities arrest three on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Byron Coleman, 50, 2029 Pocahontas St., Baton Rouge, second-offense DWI.

Francisco Garcia, 37, 2575 Gardere Lane, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, disobeying a red light, speeding and driver’s license suspended/revoked.

Glenn Loyd, 46, 901 East St., Vinton, first-offense DWI, driver’s license suspended/revoked and careless driving.
