Police say woman put child in chest, closed lid
A Ponchatoula woman accused of placing her infant in an ice chest with a gas can Monday at a Baton Rouge residence and closing the lid has been arrested.
Baton Rouge police booked Jami Jo Ranson, 38, 25049 Memory Lane, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of child desertion, possession of Schedule IV narcotics and entering contraband into a penal insitution.
After allegedly placing the infant in the ice chest at 12114 Tams Drive, Baton Rouge, Ranson sat in a chair while the child screamed continuously before someone removed the child, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Baker man arrested in BR house fire
Baton Rouge Fire Department investigators have arrested a Baker man accused of arson at a Baton Rouge home on Aug. 3.
Raymond Daniell Bradley, 33, 12821 Wedgewood Drive, was booked Monday into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of aggravated arson, criminal trespassing and terrorism.
Bradley lit a phone book at 11:03 p.m. and placed it against the garage door of the home at 3475 Hollywood St. while four people were inside, according to an affidavit warrant.
A neighbor saw Bradley, chased him away, then extinguished the fire, the warrant said.
An occupant of the home said Bradley and his cousin are feuding and several complaints have been filed against Bradley, the warrant said.
BR man, 41, accused in attack on girl, 7
Baton Rouge police arrested a 41-year-old man Sunday who is accused of rubbing his genitals against a 7-year-old girl Friday.
Police booked Lloyd Anderson, 3657 Byron St., Baton Rouge, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of sex crimes against a child.
Anderson has previous arrests for sex crimes, burglary and drugs, the warrant said.
Four people booked on DWI counts in EBR
Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
- Calvin Butler, 51, 2344 Desoto Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation and disobeying a red light.
- Julia Garcia, 20, 777 Ben Hur Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, driving left of center and reckless operation.
- Bogdan Teodoru, 27, 35 Avenue, Jackson Heights, New York, third-offense DWI, careless operation and driver’s license suspended/revoked.
- Dwayne Young, 50, 4364 Gurney St., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and improper lane usage.
