CROWLEY — The step father of a woman found dead Wednesday has been named a person of interest in her death by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The body of Skylar Credeur, 20, was found at her home on Victor Road in Rayne.
The coroner ruled the cause of death as drowning.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the death but has arrested her stepfather, Kerry Wayne Bertrand, 43, on five counts of violating a protective order that was to keep him away from the home that Credeur shared with her mother, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Maxine Trahan said.
“At this time, Kerry Bertrand is the person of interest in the homicide,” Trahan said.
Bertrand has not been charged in the death.
His bail was set at $450,000.
