LaPlace woman surrenders in attack against pregnant Gonzales woman

A LaPlace woman accused of a role in the attempted slaying of a pregnant woman and her unborn child last week surrendered to authorities Monday morning, Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies said.

Tiffany Victor, 27, 215 Medine Court, LaPlace, was booked on counts of being an accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree feticide and accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder, deputies said in a news release Monday.

Victor is the girlfriend of Cowan Collins, 27, 13444 Old Baton Rouge Highway, Hammond, the man deputies say shot Kenyia Houston, 25, of Gonzales, early Wednesday outside her home.

Deputies have not described the extent of Victor’s involvement in the shooting.

Collins, who is believed to be the biological father of Houston’s baby, knew what time Houston left for work, waited for her outside her house in dark clothing and fired several shots at her with a revolver while she was in her car, deputies have said.

Shot twice, Houston fled in her vehicle but crashed in a ditch at La. 621 and Orleans Drive in Gonzales.

Houston’s child was delivered last week in an emergency procedure.

Both were in stable condition Monday at an area hospital, deputies said.

Victor is awaiting bail at the Ascension Parish Prison near Donaldsonville, deputies said.
