The body of Connie Burch, 51, of Pineville, was found a few minutes after 1 a.m. Sunday on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of Madeline Avenue, according to a Lafayette police news release. “The victim was dead as a result of a single gunshot wound,” the release states. Investigators believe Burch was shot between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Detectives said a male on a bicycle wearing a white muscle shirt and red shorts was seen leaving the area, located on Madeline Avenue west of University Avenue.
