Zachary police booked Taurean J. Whitfield, 4773 Queen’s Carriage, Zachary, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of domestic abuse battery, child desertion and resisting an officer, an affidavit of probable cause shows. Whitfield ran from police when the officers arrived, but eventually was taken down, hit with a three-second burst of pepper spray and handcuffed, the affidavit of probable cause says. The victim said Whitfield hit her at least three times while she was in a car and once when she got out of the vehicle at a stop sign to escape from him, the affidavit says. Two young girls were in the car during the incident, the affidavit says.
