Two more men were arrested Tuesday in the double shooting Friday in north Baton Rouge that left one man dead after a botched drug deal.
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies booked Julius Thomas, 23, 7231 Skylark Ave., and Darren Paul, 20, 4941 Byron St., into Parish Prison on one count each of first-degree murder, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said.
Jarvis McKinley Fleming, 21, was arrested Sunday and booked on first-degree murder and tampering with an electronic monitor after he ditched his court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet following the shooting.
Fleming is accused of driving Thomas and Paul to the drug deal that ended with one man, Donald Ray Walls, 26, dead and Paul in the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Hicks said.
Deputies said they believe Walls and another man were supposed to buy a pound of marijuana from Paul and Thomas, Hicks said.
But Paul pulled a gun and fired on Walls and the other man first, before Walls pulled a gun and fired back, Hicks said.
Fleming drove Paul to the hospital, Hicks said.
Deputies picked up the man with Walls a few blocks away and he told them Paul fired the first shots, Hicks said.
