Affidavat: Woman, 28, stabbed boyfriend
Baton Rouge police arrested a 28-year-old woman Sunday accused of stabbing her boyfriend multiple times after they got into an argument.
Police booked Latoya Paul, 28, 5225 Ritterman Drive, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, is expected to survive after undergoing emergency surgery, police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said.
According to the affidavit, the victim went home after being out all night to find Paul throwing his belongings out of the house. During the ensuing argument, Paul began punching and pushing the victim.
She told police she thought he was going to punch her while they were arguing, so she grabbed a knife out of her purse and stabbed him several times shortly after 9:45 a.m., the affidavit says.
His wounds were so severe that his internal organs were exposed from the cuts, the affidavit says.

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 20-year-old man accused of shooting a gun into the air Saturday at Glen Oaks High School.
Deputies booked Quincy T. Carey, 4740 Aldrich Drive, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of illegal use of a weapon in a firearm free zone violation, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
When deputies responded to one of the City-Parish’s Shotspotters, which are gunshot detection devices, near the high school, Carey walked up to them with his hands in the air, the affidavit says.
Carey told deputies that he was trying to unload a handgun he found in Valley Park area a few days ago when the gun accidentally fired on the school’s campus, the affidavit says.
