Pedestrian killed on La. 700 in Vermilion Parish Tuesday Pedestrian killed on La. 700 in Vermilion Parish Tuesday Acadiana bureau Aug. 07, 2013 Comments KAPLAN — A pedestrian wearing dark-colored clothes on a road with no street lights was hit and killed by a pickup early Tuesday morning in Vermilion Parish, State Police said. Jeremy J. Little, 25, of Kaplan, was walking in the southbound lane of La. 700 in a section of the state highway north of Pershing Road when he was hit by a southbound 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Charles Milton of Sunset, State Police said. The accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday and police do not suspect Milton was impaired by alcohol or drugs. Police do not know if Little was impaired and toxicology samples from Milton and Little were sent to the State Police Crime Lab. Milton, 31, was cited for driving with an expired license plate and a suspended driver’s license.
