A Baton Rouge man surrendered to police Monday, one day after he allegedly shot his brother-in-law at a family gathering after the two had an argument.
Derrick Bland, 48, 2121 N. Lobdell Blvd., was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of second-degree murder, police Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., said.
Bland is accused of shooting James Stockton, 40, 2121 N. Lobdell Blvd., multiple times as Stockton walked out of the apartment with his family to leave after the two had an argument.
The men were roommates.
