BALTIMORE — Baltimore police said they have arrested a third suspect in the murder of a 1-year-old baby after an investigation that led to Louisiana.
Police said 22-year-old Rashid Mayo was arrested Saturday on the Grambling University campus.
Mayo was wanted on first-degree murder in the death of 1-year-old Carter Scott on May 24. The boy and his father were shot as they sat in a car in the Cherry Hill neighborhood. The father, Rashaw Scott, was critically injured. The baby died.
Two other suspects were previously arrested and face murder charges. They are Cornell Harvey, 26, and Eddie Tarver, 23.
Police have been searching for Mayo for months. In June, investigators said Mayo might be hiding in New York City or the surrounding area.
