Child injured by car window in critical but stable condition Child injured by car window in critical but stable condition Florida Parishes bureau| July 10, 2013 Comments MAUREPAS — A 2-year-old Maurepas boy who lost consciousness after his head got caught by a car window Wednesday was listed in critical but stable condition Friday, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said. There were no other updates available on the child’s condition or the investigation into the accident, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Gene Higginbotham said. The child reportedly managed to remove his safety restraint while in the vehicle, which was not moving, and raised the window, injuring his head, after using the automatic window buttons. The child had been taken to a Baton Rouge hospital Wednesday evening in critical condition. No arrests have been made, the Sheriff’s Office has said. The child’s identity has not been released.
