A single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in the 4800 block of Cadillac Street took the life of a 37-year-old Baton Rouge woman, said Cpl. Tommy Stubbs, a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman.
Michelle Aguillard, 37, 9599 Gov Beauvois Drive, was driving a 2002 Nissan Altima west on Cadillac Street around 9:30 p.m. when she apparently lost control of the car, Stubbs said.
Aguillard, who was not wearing a seat belt, then crossed the eastbound lane of traffic and ran the car into a utility pole, Stubbs said.
Aguillard was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, Stubbs said.
The police’s traffic homicide unit is investigating the crash, and impairment is not a suspected factor, Stubbs said.
