BR man booked
with armed robbery

Baton Rouge police arrested a 32-year-old Baton Rouge man Monday accused of impersonating an officer to gain entry into a woman’s house on April 24 and robbing her.

Police booked Julius Williams, 1513 Myrtle Walk, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of impersonating a police officer and armed robbery, prison records show.

Williams knocked on the woman’s door, said he was a police officer, and shined a flashlight into her eyes when she opened the door, an affidavit warrants says.

The victim, a 64-year-old woman, tried to close the door, but Williams knocked her down and tied her up before stealing her jewelry, television and cellphone, the warrant says.

Police arrest man, 28,
in Friday shooting

Baton Rouge police arrested the Baton Rouge man Monday accused of shooting a man Friday at 1819 N. Marque Ann Drive.

Police booked Steaphon Harris, 28, 1387 Harco Drive, Baton Rouge, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with counts of attempted second-degree murder illegal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm, police Lt. Don Kelly said.

Police think Harris walked up to the victim with a shotgun at about 1:50 a.m. and began shooting at him, Kelly said. The victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries, tried to run, but was hit and possibly shot again while he was on the ground, Kelly said.

Teacher accused
of touching student

A math teacher at Southern University Lab School accused of touching a female student inappropriately on two separate occasions was arrested Monday.

Southern University Police booked Arthur L. Williamson Jr., 31, 926 Woodvine Drive, Baton Rouge, into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of molestation of a juvenile, an affidavit warrant says.

The first incident occurred in front of at least one other student in Williamson’s classroom when the victim brought a book to Williamson, the warrant says. The second incident occurred when the victim was in Williamson’s class, the warrant says.

Williamson is accused of putting his hand under the girl’s skirt and touching her neck and thigh. The warrant does not give the date the incidents occurred.

Woman accused
of firing shot in air

A woman accused of pointing a gun at people in a car on April 21 and firing a single shot into the air as the car passed has been arrested.

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies booked Crystal Price, 24, 2451 DeSoto Drive, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a weapon, prison records show.

Price stepped out of her car at 1:30 p.m. on June 11 at the intersection of Silverleaf Avenue and Greenwell Street in the 5700 block of Silverleaf, walked up to the car behind her, pulled out a handgun and said, “I’ll kill all of y’all!”

A few minutes later, Price fired one shot in the air as the victims drove by her while she was stopped in the 5600 block of Hartford Drive.

Man, 25 booked with sex crime on girl, 13

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies Monday arrested a 25-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of indecent behavior with a 13-year-old girl at a party on June 7.

Deputies booked Michael Wayne Archer, 11971 Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson Road, Zachary, into Parish Prison on counts of oral sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile, prison records show.

The victim told police she initially refused Archer’s his request for oral sex several times outside a Baton Rouge home and tried pushing him away, according to an affidavit warrant. The victim also said Archer fondled her breasts and touched her inappropriately in her pelvic area.
