Escaped work release inmate captured in Baton Rouge Escaped work release inmate captured in Baton Rouge Advocate staff report June 26, 2013 Comments U.S. marshals captured Tederick Bessie in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, 35 hours after he walked away from his work release job in Ponchatoula, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele said. Bessie was last seen at Elmer’s Chocolate Factory at about 6 a.m. Monday. Livivngston Parish sheriff’s deputies and Louisiana Workforce LLC assisted in the search. Bessie is serving time for simple robbery and was set to be released in January 2015. Steele said deputies have not determined if Bessie will face additional counts.
