Natalbany motorcyclist dies in 3-vehicle accident Natalbany motorcyclist dies in 3-vehicle accident Ben Wallace| Advocate staff writer June 20, 2013 Comments A Natalbany man died in a three-vehicle accident near Tickfaw when his motorcycle collided with a pickup on La. 1065. Carl Jones, 36, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle that collided Friday with the right side of a 2004 Toyota truck driven by Johnny Leboeuf, 61, of Bourg, according to a State Police Troop L news release. A third vehicle was struck by debris. Leboeuf was arrested on counts of negligent homicide Friday after he failed to yield while making a left turn, resulting in the fatal collision with Jones on La. 1065 near its intersection with La. 442 in Tangipahoa Parish, State Police said. Leboeuf, who was traveling south on La. 1065, failed to yield while making a left turn into a private driveway, which resulted in Jones, who was traveling north, colliding with the side of Leboeuf’s pickup, the release says. Jones, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office, the release says. A third vehicle, a Ford pickup driving behind Leboeuf at the time of the crash, was struck by debris from the impact, the release says. The drivers of both trucks, Leboeuf and 29-year-old Stephen McGlothern, of Independence, were wearing seat belts and were not injured as a result of the three-vehicle crash, the release says. Leboeuf submitted to a sobriety breath test at the scene, and police did not detect any alcohol in his system, the release says. Leboeuf was then arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on counts of negligent homicide and failure to yield while making a left turn, the release says.
