DONALDSONVILLE — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a man accused of firing two shots at another man during an argument Tuesday afternoon on Memorial Drive in Donaldsonville, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Toran Munson, 28, 905 Pine St., Donaldsonville, was booked into Ascension Parish Prison on counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated damage to property, deputies said in a news release. Munson remained in custody awaiting a judge to set bail.
Deputies said Munson and the other man, who was not identified and was not injured Tuesday, had previous fights and that their feud flared up again Tuesday in what authorities described as a drive-by shooting.
The man was walking on Memorial Drive. Munson drove up, got out of his car and started an argument with the man, deputies said.
During the argument, Munson fired two shots, then got back in his car and drove away, tossing the handgun out of the car window, deputies said.
Deputies said witnesses and a passenger in Munson’s car confirmed the account.
Deputies said they found Munson, searched his car and found a small smoking pipe along with a marijuana residue on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
