Deputies book suspect in Prairieville shooting Deputies book suspect in Prairieville shooting Joshua Stephens River Parishes bureau April 24, 2013 Comments The suspect in a Sunday night shooting at a Prairieville club turned himself in to authorities late Tuesday night, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said Wednesday. Joshua Stephens, 19, 39150 La. 929, Prairieville, allegedly was involved in a verbal dispute with another man and a shooting at Club Real, 38506 Scott’s Lane, Prairieville, at 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said Stephens is accused of pulling a gun, firing several shots, hitting a woman in the foot and running away. Deputies said the victim was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the other man suffered minor injuries that did not require hospital care. Stephens was booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons, firearm on premises of an alcohol beverage outlet and disturbing the peace. He remained incarcerated Wednesday while awaiting bail.
