No one was injured in the fires, which included two vacant homes, authorities said. St. George Fire Department spokesman Eldon Ledoux said firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire on Tall Oaks Court, near South Vignes Road off Hoo Shoo Too Road. Firefighters arrived at 18914 Tall Oaks Court at 8:20 p.m. and found flames in the second floor of a multistory, single-family residence, Ledoux said in a news release. The blaze was brought under control at 8:50 p.m., Ledoux said. The second floor had moderate fire damage, Ledoux said. Five engines, two ladder trucks and a water tanker truck were dispatched to the scene, Ledoux said. In the second fire, Brownsfield Chief Carroll Campbell said firefighters were called to 9644 Foster Road at 6:36 p.m. and found the vacant home fully involved with flames. Firefighters from the Brownsfield, Baton Rouge, Baker, Central and District Six fire departments took about 30 to 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control, Campbell said. The home was vacant with no utilities, Campbell said. In the third fire, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said firefighters arrived at 10160 Elm Grove Garden Drive at 4:49 p.m. and found the vacant home fully engulfed, Monte said in a news release. The fire was brought under control at 5:45 p.m., Monte said. The house is considered a total loss, Monte said. Firefighters also found that nearby burned electrical lines caused live power lines to fall to the ground, Monte said. Entergy was called to cut those lines, Monte said.
