Eunice man accused of attacking girlfriend with bleach

A Eunice man has landed in jail after his girlfriend told police he held her down and poured bleach on her face and other parts of her body, police said.

Chance Ceasar, 34, is being held on $11,500 bond after pleading not guilty Wednesday to one count each of second-degree domestic battery, domestic abuse battery with injuries and disturbing the peace, Eunice police said in a news release Thursday.

Police said a caller on Tuesday reported hearing a woman’s screams.

When police arrived, the victim, who wasn’t identified in the release, flagged down officers to tell them Ceasar “held her down and poured the entire bottle of bleach on her,” the release ssttes.

The girlfriend was taken to the hospital and released Wednesday, the release stated.

By Thursday afternoon, the victim had returned to the 221½ North 8th St. home in Eunice she shared with Ceasar, said Varden Guillory Sr., deputy police chief of Eunice.

Ceasar had previously been in jail on an array of charges stemming from an incident in July when he allegedly threatened the same woman with a skillet, police said.

Eunice police referred to the victim at the time as Ceasar’s “ex-girlfriend,” according to information released Thursday and in July.

Police said Ceasar had gotten into an argument with the woman at 8:20 p.m. July 20, and was told to leave, according to the release.

At 10:06 p.m., after being warned to stay away, Ceasar allegedly broke through a window in the victim’s home “then tried to strike her with an electric skillet, so she ran with Chance chasing her,” police said.

Police said Ceasar chased the shoeless woman for three blocks as she dialed police, the release said.

Ceasar, who resided at the time at 300 S. Martin Luther King Drive, was arrested on one count each of home invasion, remaining on premises after being forbidden, disturbing the peace, aggravated assault and resisting an officer, police said.

Ceasar was out of jail on $17,500 bond when he was arrested Tuesday, police said.
