Man arrested, son
wanted in slaying
Baton Rouge police have arrested a 51-year-old man and are searching for his son in a Jan. 5 beating in which the victim died from his injuries two months later.
Police found Shedrick L. Lobrano, 51, at his 3925 Geronimo St. home at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said in a news release.
Lobrano was set to be booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of principal to second-degree murder, Stubbs said.
His son, Shedrick Demond Lobrano, 24, was still at large Wednesday afternoon, Stubbs said.
The men, both of 3925 Geronimo St., are wanted in the death of Lionell Trumble, 60, Lt. Don Kelly said in a news release.
Trumble, 890 N. 39th St., was severely beaten with a board when he intervened in a fight between his sister and her ex-boyfriend, the elder Lobrano, at 3864 Ozark, Kelly said.
Trumble, who had been hospitalized since the beating, died March 12 from his injuries, Kelly said.
The elder Lobrano was arrested at the scene Jan. 5 and his son was arrested a few days later, Kelly said. They were booked on counts of attempted second-degree murder and bonded out of jail, Kelly said.
Anyone with any information on Shedrick Demond Lobrano’s whereabouts is asked to contact police at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (225) 344-7867.
